Who is Arik Air?

Arik Air began flying on 30 October 2006 and started its first international route, Lagos to London Heathrow, in December 2008. Around 2010 it was one of West Africa's biggest airlines, with more than 20 aircraft.

In February 2017 the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) took it over, and it is still in receivership. In 2026 news reports described a fleet of Boeing 737-700s, with only one or two flying. Its London, New York and Johannesburg routes have ended.

Where does Arik Air fly from Nigeria?

Arik Air's website still lists Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Owerri, Jos, Yola, Ilorin and other cities, but that list is not dated and the airline was flying very few aircraft in 2026. Lagos to Port Harcourt is one route it was confirmed to be flying in 2026.
