Who is British Airways?

British Airways was formed in 1974 and is based at London Heathrow. In April 2026 it marked 90 years of flights between the UK and Nigeria, with daily flights from Lagos (Boeing 787) and Abuja (Boeing 777) to Heathrow.

It is a member of the oneworld alliance. Its frequent flyer programme, renamed The British Airways Club in April 2025, uses Avios.
