Who is South African Airways?

South African Airways was founded in 1934, is based in Johannesburg and is a member of Star Alliance. Its frequent flyer programme is Voyager.

It flies Lagos to Johannesburg four times a week. Its chief executive had said SAA would fly daily to Lagos by March 2026, but that had not happened by October 2026. Its Abuja route was suspended in 2017 and has not returned.

Where does South African Airways fly from Nigeria?

SAA flies Lagos to Johannesburg, from where it connects to Cape Town, Durban, Harare and other Southern African cities. On days without a Lagos flight, SAA's Nigeria office suggests connecting through Accra.
