Who is Qatar Airways?

Qatar Airways is Qatar's national airline, founded in 1993 and based at Hamad International Airport in Doha. It has been a member of the oneworld alliance since 2013, with partners such as British Airways, American Airlines and Royal Air Maroc.

In spring 2026 Qatar Airways grounded most of its flights for several weeks during the Iran conflict and then rebuilt its network. Its Nigerian flights were cut and then restored: from mid-April 2026 it was back to two flights a day from Lagos and five a week from Abuja.

Where does Qatar Airways fly from Nigeria?

Qatar Airways flies Doha to Lagos and Doha to Abuja with Boeing 787s. Its Port Harcourt flight runs through Abuja on the same aircraft, and from 25 October 2026 it is scheduled seven times a week. Its Kano flights, started in 2022, were reported cut from the winter 2026/27 schedule.
