What happened to Dana Air?

Dana Air started flying on 10 November 2008 from Lagos, mainly to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri and Enugu, with McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series jets.

On 23 April 2024 one of its MD-82s skidded off the runway at Lagos; all 83 people on board were unhurt. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority suspended the airline the same day. In November 2025 Nigeria's aviation minister said the government could sell Dana Air's assets to repay passengers and travel agents owed refunds, and in April 2026 ch-aviation described the airline as dormant with its fleet grounded.
