About Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport

The airport is run by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and received its NCAA aerodrome certificate on 19 December 2025. It has two runways: the 3,301 m runway used mainly by civil flights and a shorter one used mainly by the Nigerian Air Force.

In 2026 the Federal Government approved ₦46.39 billion to rehabilitate both runways. By the end of July 2026 no closure dates had been announced. It has an international terminal and a domestic terminal.
