About Margaret Ekpo International Airport
The airport is named after Margaret Ekpo, a pioneering Nigerian women's rights activist and politician, and is run by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). In September 2026 FAAN's board inspected runway upgrade work and a newly installed 500 kVA solar power system, and the state is upgrading the international wing of the terminal.
