SkyKoda vs Wakanow: Pay Small Small, Fees and Support Compared (2026)

SkyKoda vs Wakanow: which is better for booking flights?

Last updated 27 October 2026 · Written by the SkyKoda team

Disclosure: SkyKoda runs this page and is one of the services compared. We list other sites' strengths too, link every fact about them to its public source, and date it. Prices and policies change, so check the source before you book.

Wakanow and SkyKoda both sell domestic and international flights to travellers in Nigeria, and both let you pay in parts. Wakanow is the bigger, older company: it has been selling travel online since 2008, has about 30 travel centres and airport desks, and sells hotels, packages and visa help as well as flights. SkyKoda is a smaller, flights-only agency that shows ₦0 service fee on its fares and lets you choose a bigger deposit and a shorter or longer plan.

In short: choose Wakanow if you want a walk-in office, an app or a holiday package. Choose SkyKoda if you want to see the full price with no service fee added after booking, and clear published terms for paying in parts. For any single trip, the cheapest site depends on the route and date, so compare the final price on both.

Pay Small Small: how the two plans differ

Both companies start at a 25% deposit. Wakanow's Pay Small Small plans run from 1 day to 2 months, its help page says a service charge applies depending on the plan length, and the first 25% is not refunded if you stop the plan. The size of that charge is not published.

SkyKoda's FlexPay lets you choose a deposit of 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 50% or 90%, and a due date 1, 2, 3, 5 or 30 days after booking. The FlexPay fee is published: 6% of the airline's base fare, shown before you pay. If you don't pay the balance, the plan is cancelled and what you paid is refunded minus a cancellation fee.

One thing is the same at both: the ticket is issued only once you have paid in full, and with SkyKoda the fare is not held by the airline until then, so the price can go up or down before you finish paying. SkyKoda shows you the current price before every payment.

Service fees and the final price

Wakanow's help centre says fares include taxes and that "the Wakanow service fee will be added" once the booking is completed; it does not say how much. SkyKoda shows ₦0 service fee on its fares, and the price on the results page is the price you pay, unless you choose FlexPay, which adds the 6% fee shown above.

The fairest test is simple: search the same flight on both sites and compare the total on the payment page, not the first price you see.

Support and offices

This is Wakanow's clearest advantage. It lists about 30 travel centres and airport desks across Nigeria and says support is available 24/7 by phone, e-mail and chat. If you prefer to pay or ask questions in person, Wakanow is easier.

SkyKoda has one office, in Asaba, and supports customers by phone and WhatsApp on 0810 782 0069 and by e-mail at hello@skykoda.com. Booking confirmations and tickets are sent on WhatsApp and by e-mail.

Apps and reviews

Wakanow has apps on the App Store (3.55 from 207 ratings in Nigeria) and Google Play (4.1 from about 1,950 reviews, over a million downloads). SkyKoda has no app yet; its website is built to work on phones and slow mobile data.

On Trustpilot, Wakanow scores 2.1 ("Poor") from 78 reviews. SkyKoda has a Trustpilot profile but no reviews yet, so there is no independent score to compare. Read recent reviews for both before you book a large trip.

Refunds

Refunds depend first on the airline's fare rules: a non-refundable ticket stays non-refundable at any agency. Wakanow says refunds can take 6 to 8 weeks depending on the airline. SkyKoda says refunds usually take 2 to 8 weeks after the request, and sometimes longer, because the money has to come back from the airline first. Check the fare rules shown before you pay at either site.

How to check any flight ticket is real

Whichever site you use, you can check the ticket yourself. Your e-ticket shows a six-character airline booking reference (PNR) and a 13-digit ticket number. Enter the booking reference and your surname in "Manage booking" on the airline's own website or app. If the airline shows your name, flight and ticket number, the ticket is real and confirmed.

With pay-in-parts plans the ticket is only issued once you have paid in full, so the airline won't show a ticket number before then. That is normal at SkyKoda, Wakanow and other agencies.

Which should you choose?

  • Choose Wakanow if you want an office to walk into, an app, or flights bundled with hotels, tours or visa help.
  • Choose SkyKoda if you want no service fee on the fare, published FlexPay terms with a deposit and due date you pick, and support on WhatsApp.
  • For any one trip, compare the final payment-page price on both: the cheaper site changes by airline and date.

How we compared

We read each company's own website, help pages, terms and contact page, and their app-store listings and Trustpilot pages, on 27 October 2026, and recorded only what is published. Where a company doesn't publish something, the table says "Not publicly available" or "not published". We did not make test bookings. Prices change daily, so compare the final price for your own flight. Companies can ask us to correct anything at hello@skykoda.com.
