There are four main online travel agencies most Nigerians use to book flights: Wakanow, Travelstart, SkyKoda and Travelbeta. There is no single "best": each wins on something different. We compared what matters when you book from Nigeria: how you can pay, what fees you see, how you get help, and what other customers say.

We list them by what each is best for, not in a ranked order, because SkyKoda is one of them.

Best app: Travelstart

An international group since 1999, now selling to Nigeria on travelstart.com. Its app is rated 4.5 on Google Play from 13,900 reviews. No pay-later option for Nigeria was found, service fees aren't published, and its Trustpilot score across all countries is 1.2 from 775 reviews.

Best for clear pay-in-parts terms and no service fee: SkyKoda

A Nigerian flights-only agency. ₦0 service fee on fares; FlexPay from a 25% deposit with the rest due in 1 to 30 days and a published 6% fee; bank transfer and Verve accepted; support on WhatsApp. No app yet, one office, and no Trustpilot reviews yet.

Best for an office in Abuja: Travelbeta

Offices on Victoria Island, Lagos and at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, with extras like protocol services and visa help. Its financing terms are not published, and refunds carry a 10% service charge on top of the airline's rules.

How to choose

Paying in parts: compare the deposit, the plan length, the fee and what happens if you can't finish paying.
Final price: compare the total on the payment page, after any service fee.
Payment: check the site takes the way you want to pay (Verve, bank transfer, USSD).
Help: check opening hours and whether there's WhatsApp support or an office near you.
Reviews: read recent reviews, not just the score.

How to check any flight ticket is real

Whichever site you use, you can check the ticket yourself. Your e-ticket shows a six-character airline booking reference (PNR) and a 13-digit ticket number. Enter the booking reference and your surname in "Manage booking" on the airline's own website or app. If the airline shows your name, flight and ticket number, the ticket is real and confirmed.

With pay-in-parts plans the ticket is only issued once you have paid in full, so the airline won't show a ticket number before then. That is normal at SkyKoda, Wakanow and other agencies.

What is the best site to book cheap flights in Nigeria?

No single site is always cheapest: it depends on the airline, route and date. Compare the final payment-page price on two or three sites. SkyKoda shows ₦0 service fee on fares; Wakanow and Travelstart add service fees whose amounts they don't publish.

Which Nigerian booking sites let me pay small small?

Wakanow (Pay Small Small, 25% down, plans up to 2 months) and SkyKoda (FlexPay, 25%–90% deposit, due in 1–30 days, 6% fee). Travelbeta lists travel financing without published terms. Travelstart says it does not offer credit.

How do I know a flight booking site is legit?

Check the ticket yourself: enter the six-character booking reference and your surname in Manage booking on the airline's website. Also check the company name, a working phone or WhatsApp number, published refund terms and recent reviews.
